TEMA Foundation implements reforestation, afforestation, carbon sequestration and biodiversity protection projects in areas subject to erosion, in order to regain the green cover, wild life and ecological balance. The foundation, with the support of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry has planted 2,2 million saplings over an area of 2.350 hectares under 25 different reforestation projects through the sponsorship of individuals and companies.
Presently; Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden, Bodrum Türkbükü Asım Kocabıyık Biological Diversity Protection and Vegetation Project, Vehbi Koç Nature and Culture Center, Turks Abroad, İzmit Kent, Kırıkkale Rural Services, Ankara Chamber of Trade, Ankara 4th Jet Base Kartal, Opet Tarkan, TEMA-AGM Memorial Forests; İstanbul-Ankara TEM Motorway, TEM Motorway Kınalı Junction ve Susuz Junction Vegetation Projects, Rural Services Forest, Goodyear Oak Reforestation Project, Adana TEMA Park, Gebze I, Gebze II (Şekerpınar) Gebze III, Polatlı, Polatlı-İğciler-Kargalı Village, Konya-Meram-Kozağaç, Şanlıurfa Tunnel Exit, Ulaştırma Oto Alayı, 66. Zırhlı Tugay and with the support of Netherlands Rotterdam Municipality Konya Ilgın Geçit Village Reforestation Projects activities are still cotinuing. Also, TEMA’s “10 Billion Oak Acorns Projects” started in 1998 with the partnership of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. The budget of the project, planned to be terminated in 2023, is 1,8 billion $. Since 1998, 850 million oak acorns have been planted with the support of citizens, private-public sector, Turkish Armed Forces and Education Institutions.
